How Much Does House Cleaning Cost in Malaysia?
Nobody publishes a straight answer, because there genuinely is not one. What there is, is a set of ranges the market works within and a short list of things that push you toward the top or the bottom of them. Here is both, so you can work out roughly where your own place lands before you ask anyone for a number.

The Two Ways Cleaning Gets Charged
Almost every quote you will see is built one of two ways, and knowing which one you are looking at explains most of the confusion.
Hourly, per cleaner. This is how routine work is normally priced. Weekly or fortnightly upkeep, part-time maid arrangements and small office visits all tend to run this way. The going market rate in the Klang Valley sits somewhere around RM25 to RM35 per hour per cleaner, and a crew of two working three hours is billed as six cleaner-hours, not three.
Per job, quoted up front. Deep cleans, post-renovation work, move-in and move-out cleans and upholstery jobs are usually priced for the whole visit. The reason is simple: the time these take depends on the state of the property, and an hourly rate on an unknown quantity is uncomfortable for everybody.
If someone gives you a per-job price without asking about condition, treat it as a rough indication rather than a firm number.
An hourly figure with no stated number of cleaners and no stated hours is not a price, it is a rate. Ask for cleaners multiplied by hours. A per job figure needs the scope written down instead, otherwise the cheaper quote is usually the one covering less.
Typical Ranges You Will See Quoted
These are market rates seen across the Klang Valley, not our own quote. Your job may sit outside them.
Routine house cleaning generally works out at RM25 to RM35 per hour per cleaner. A standard condo unit with two cleaners for three hours therefore lands somewhere in the RM150 to RM210 region for the visit.
Deep cleaning is commonly quoted per square foot, roughly RM0.45 to RM0.75, with heavier jobs pushing above that. A 900 square foot unit in normal condition sits around RM400 to RM675 on those figures.
Post-renovation cleaning runs higher, in the region of RM0.80 to RM1.40 per square foot, because fine cement dust needs several passes and specialist attention on glass and grout.
Move-in and move-out cleans tend to fall between the two, around RM0.40 to RM0.70 per square foot for an empty unit.
Upholstery is priced by item. Sofas commonly run RM50 to RM75 per seat, mattresses roughly RM100 for a single up to RM260 for a king, and rugs by size.
Most providers apply a minimum charge on small jobs, because a two-seater sofa on its own still costs a crew a round trip.

Floor Area and Layout
Square footage is the starting point, but a double-storey house adds staircases and a second set of bathrooms, which costs more than the same area on one level.
Condition on the Day
The gap between a maintained home and one that has gone six months without attention is hours, not minutes. This is the factor people underestimate most.
One-Off or Recurring
A standing weekly or fortnightly slot is cheaper per visit than a one-off, because each visit starts from the last one rather than from scratch.
Timing and Access
Work outside normal hours, gated townships with visitor registration, and high floors with lift bookings all add time before anyone starts cleaning.

Both are common in Malaysia. Routine upkeep is usually hourly per cleaner, while deep cleans, post-renovation work and move-out jobs are normally quoted for the whole job because the time depends on the state of the place rather than its size alone.
Usually, but condition matters as much as floor area. A well-kept four-bedroom house on a weekly schedule can take less time than a two-bedroom unit that has not been cleaned in six months.
You do not have to. Most crews arrive with their own machines and solutions. If you prefer specific products on stone, timber or a particular surface, say so when you book and leave them out.
